Richard (Rich) Kenny, Manager of Talent Sourcing and Selection Strategies for Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, MI. Rich began his employment with Henry Ford Health System in September 2010. He currently leads the sourcing team for the entire health system and manages the selection tools and recruitment strategies.


Prior to joining Henry Ford Health System, Rich was the Founder/President of Talent Acquisition Consulting, Inc. Rich consulted with C&S Wholesale Grocers to implement their applicant tracking system, reengineer their operations recruiting program, and work with their corporate recruiters on recruitment strategies. Rich also consulted for Compass Airlines, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines to reengineer their applicant tracking system and sourcing/recruiting process for all positions. Rich also consulted on social media strategies for job seekers and C-level professionals.


Prior to starting his consulting business, Rich led Delta Air Lines entire talent acquisition program and merged Delta Air Lines and Northwest Airlines talent acquisition programs after the merger. Prior to the merger, Rich held the HR Director, Operations Recruitment & Selection position for Northwest Airlines.  Rich was responsible for providing leadership to a centralized recruitment function that recruited and selected Luggage Handlers, Customer Service Agents, Reservations Sales Agents and Flight Attendants. 


Rich began his employment with Northwest Airlines in April 2007.  He was brought into Northwest Airlines to review and recommend changes to their recruitment programs.  During his tenure he identified cost saving recommendations totaling $3.0 million annually, created an internet advertising program which resulted in 350,000 candidates applying during its first year, redeveloped the employment brand and career website. Rich and the HR staffing teams hired up to 6,000 employees a year.


Prior to joining Northwest, Rich worked for 7-Eleven for six years, his most recent role was the Manager of Field Staffing. He was responsible for managing their overall recruitment strategy at 6000 retail locations hiring 25,000 hourly and 900 management hires annually.  Rich also worked for Comerica Bank for three years in various roles including college recruiter and sourcing/recruiting specialist.


Rich graduated from the University of Toledo and holds his bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a major in Human Resources.  Rich holds his certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). Rich also holds several Advanced Internet Recruiting Strategy (AIRS) certifications including; CSSR, ACIR, CDR and CIR.
